*Jenny Scheinman, Robbie Fulks, Robbie Gjersoe in performance at 4:30 at National Gallery of Art East Wing accompanying film by Depression-era itinerant filmmaker H. Lee Waters who documented more than a hundred towns in the Carolinas, Virginia, and Tennessee from 1936 to 1942 in his series Movies of Local People. Waters recorded people going about their lives in the small-town South. In Kannapolis: A Moving Portrait, musician Jenny Scheinman offers her original score to Waters’s footage,  reworked into a new film by Finn Taylor and edited by Rick LaCompte. Scheinman, with musicians Robbie Fulks and Robbie Gjersoe, mixes folksongs, fiddle music, and field sounds
