6301 River Road, Bethesda, MD  with Guest Artists: Javier Farías, composer and classical guitarist; Orlando Cotto, Puerto Rican percussionist; Francesca Dugarte, American ballet dancer; The Strings Avenue Quartet.  Cantigas will be doing a Calle 13 song plus  the world premiere of La sangre derramada, a composition for mixed choir and classical guitar by Chilean composer Javier Farías, commissioned for this 25th Anniversary.
 Mr. Farías will accompany Cantigas in the guitar in the performance of his own composition and in Romancero.  This grand finale also features songs for choir and string quartet

Smithsonian Folklife Festival featuring music and culture from the Basque region and Sounds of California and more  on the National Mall between Fourth and Seventh streets in Washington, D.C., June 29–July 4 and July 7–10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with special events beginning at 6:30 p.m
Kepa Junkera, a Basque trikitixa (accordion) player  with the Sorginak, an all-women group whose name translates as “witches.” Their music promotes the use of traditional Basque instrumentation while exploring new fusions of rhythm and sound. At 6:30 pm at the Smithsonian Folklife Fest evening concert (rain location in Arts & Industries bldg.)

At 6:30 pm at the Smithsonian Folklife Fest evening concert (rain location in Arts & Industries bldg.) NOKA is a trio of Basque American women based in Chino, California: they specialize in songs about Basque culture, gender, and identity.
The Biotzetik Basque Choir will kick off the evening with both traditional folk songs and sacred music. Founded in Boise, Idaho, in 1986, the thirty-one-person choir consists of native Basques and first- and second-generation Basque Americans.
Jouwala Collective blends Gnawa music, traditional African and spiritual song with Black Masala at Tropicalia
